As has been decided unanimously at the General Assembly of ISMH during the 38th ISMH Congress in Lanjaron Spain last June, I am glad to announce that Balneology is going to be the official journal of the International Society of Medical Hydrology and Climatology (ISMH) as a continuation of former Annals of Medical Hydrology which was the Professional School of Medical Hydrology and Hydrotherapy Facultad de Medicina - Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

We do hope that Balneology will be an answer to the deeply felt need of a peer-reviewed international journal in our discipline. We are all aware of the difficulties in establishing such a respected and accepted journal, but I am convinced that we all will do our best for promoting the Journal by sending original papers, reviews and research results and scientific reports to be published in the Balneology. I am more than optimistic about the future of the journal considering the intensified research activity and the increasing number of publications in our common field balneology.

I am truly looking forward to your contributions and I am very much excited about this initiative of ISMH.
