Course of the ISMH on Balneotherapy

Szeged, Hungary, November 14 - 18, 2005

A five-day course dedicated to postgraduate and continuous medical education.
The programme covers most of the relevant topics in Balneotherapy, thus being of particular interest to the participants
By providing short reviews and well-selected case studies, the ISMH Course helps the participants prepare for their everyday work.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Beginning and End: The ISMH Course programme will begin on Monday, November 14, 2005, and end on Friday, November 18, 2005.

Arrival Time in Szeged or Budapest
You should plan to arrive in Szeged not later than 9:00 am on Monday, November, 2005.

Accommodation
Accommodation of all participants from outside Szeged will be in Hotel Royal. Registered participants will be informed about hotel registration by the course secretariat.

How to get to Szeged:
Szeged is situated in the south-east of Hungary, 180 km from the capital, Budapest.
From “Ferihegy 2” Airport in Budapest:
• The most convenient way to reach Szeged is by minibus. The Congress Secretariat will provide a shuttle service for the delegates if required (waiting time: max. 2 hours).
• The journey by car takes about 2 hours, on the M5 motorway, followed by approximately 40 minutes on Route 75. Vignettes are compulsory on motorways in
Hungary. Four-day vignettes cost about 1600 HUF (7 €), while the cost of ten-day vignettes is around 2500 HUF (10 €).
• After landing, you can get a direct Airport Minibus (the journey costs approximately 2500 HUF) to Budapest “Nyugati” Railway Station, from where there are frequent rail services (regular and InterCity) to Szeged. The journey takes about 160 minutes and costs approximately 2500 HUF (10 €).
• You will find taxis outside Budapest Airport, but the fares to Budapest “Nyugati” Railway Station may differ substantially. Always agree on the fare in advance!

How to get to the Hotel Royal from Szeged train station?

• The most convenient way to reach Hotel Royal is to take a taxi or take tram 1 at the railway station. You can buy tickets at the tram driver.

Tourist information:
Tourist information, concerning the best restaurants, cafes, museums or events in Szeged and its surroundings, etc., can be found at www.szegedportal.hu. The
tourist information office is: Tourinform (H-6720 Szeged, Dugonics tér 2).

Restaurants:
Hungary is widely known for its culinary delights and good wines. A recommendation service will operate at the Congress Secretariat.

Shopping:
The centre of Szeged offers many good stores, but a number of designer boutiques have moved to Szeged Plaza.

Banking and exchange:
The official currency is the Hungarian forint (HUF). Regular banking hours are from 9:00 to 16:00 on weekdays, but some exchange offices are open on Saturday morning. Automatic tellers, which you can use with your VISA, Mastercard or most other major credit cards, are available all over the city. Most hotels and shops accept all major credit cards. The exchange rate is approximately 250 HUF/1 Euro.

Visa requirements:
For entry into Hungary, a valid passport is sufficient for citizens of EU member countries. For other countries, bilateral agreements may exist. For details, please consult the Hungarian Embassy or the homepage:

Liability and insurance:
The organizer is not able to take any responsibility whatsoever for injury or damage involving persons and property during the conference. Participants are advised to take out their own personal travel and health insurance for their trip.

Course Material
On the first day the course material will be distributed. It will include the detailed scientific and social programme, as well as practical information on Szeged.

Meals and Social Programme
- Breakfasts and lunches will be served at the Hotel Royal
- Social events: welcome dinner, dinners in the hotel or outside, farewell party, visiting thermal baths.

CME Accreditation ?
Accreditation for European CME credits is being sought for this course.

Course fee
The course fee for early registration is EUR 800. The course (registration) fee covers: taking part in the course, course material, summary of lectures, 6 nights accommodation, 5 lunches, 5 dinners, coffee breaks, , social programmes

A EUR 250 reduction will be given to those who do not need lodging at the hotel.
